May 2025

Our Stud ewes have been lambing and we have kept up to date with recording birth date and type along with full pedigree. All breeding values are built on the foundation of these critical pieces of information and are of significantly lesser value if they are not known.

Hand feeding of the lambing ewes has continued daily, although a few small rains have germinated some grasses to provide a green pick.

We sold the last of 2024 drop lambs to minimise the number of sheep on Glen Holme; the supply of home grown hay was limited by the drought of 2024.

Wool test results included the line from the mature ewes who all weaned one, two or three good lambs last year and still had a tensile strength of 48N/kt. Our dedication to breeding “good doers” has certainly paid off.

Crop planting has been started.
